When I go away to the Lake District, I usually wake up early on the first morning (excitement!). And this time was no different, something the early dawn chorus no doubt assisted with. So, despite it being 5am, I got up and ventured outside.
Thought I’d take a photo of the perfect skies and upload it to my BBC WeatherWatcher website. I’ve never been up early enough to take a photo that might be used on BBC Breakfast, so I thought it was worth a go.
I watched the weather forecasts every half an hour on Breakfast and didn’t see anything, so I decided to go out, just before 9am. You can guess what happened next …
Funnily enough, my Mum emailed me to enquire what the weather was like in the Lake District, because back in Shropshire it was wet, cold and misty. She’d only just hit the ‘send’ button, when this appeared on her television screen!
