As your puppy can’t talk, have you ever wondered whether he’s happy or sad?  Happy puppies will wag their tails, but a sad puppy will whine.  Make a note of the other things your puppy does to tell you how he’s feeling.  What does he do if he’s scared?  How does he act if he’s angry?

Never try to train your puppy when you’re in a bad mood.  If you’ve had a bad day at school it’s not your puppy’s fault.  You’re more likely to start shouting if he doesn’t do what you want him to do.  Would you play with your best friend if they were in a bad mood?
