SIMON WHALEY

Self-Distancing Snapper Simon

It’s a troubling time at the moment, and while the Government permits us to go outside and exercise, I shall continue to do my daily walk.

I was already aware of how lucky I am to live on the Welsh Borders, but the current Covid 19 shutdown is only bringing it to the fore. Exercising close to home is easy for me … I simply step out of my front door, turn right out of the gate and five minutes later, walking up the road, I cross a stile and I’m on open hillside.

And while we have weather that’s worthy of views, I shall be climbing my local hill. So when Shefali opened her weather forecast on BBC Midland’s Today with the following image, I knew I recognised that waymarker post …

And the fuzziness on the screen cleared, and viewers saw the vista that greeted me on my daily exercise today …

And 15 degrees? It felt a lot warmer than that to me by the time I’d clambered up the hillside!

Stay safe everyone.
