As the author of Running a Writers’ Circle and having had 4 years experience of running a group (as well as experience of being a member for over ten years) I’ve come across many situations and difficulties that writers’ circles suffer from. I have a regular column in The New Writer magazine, “Simon Whaley’s Circle Clinic” where I answer queries raised by groups up and down the country.

If you have a query you’d like me to try to answer, please click on the ‘Contact Me’ link below and email me with the basic outline. I’ll let you have a reply, so you don;t have to wait for a printed response in the magazine. Now don’t worry - as I said earlier - I’m a member of a writers’ group - I know what they can be like! I can be diplomatic is required! If you’d like me to help you with your query, but don’t want to get lynched by the rest of the group, just tell me that you’d like your question to be anonymous and I’ll sort it out. The last thing we want is any unnecessary bloodshed!

Read some of my previous columns below to see how questions are dealt with.
