Now that spring is well and truly warming us up (the bluebells will be out soon!) the annual Explore England guide is out, and it contains two of my pieces.
First, on pages 15-17 you can follow in my footsteps as I wander along the Coffin Trail, between Ambleside and Grasmere, in Cumbria’s Lake District. It’s a gentle linear walk, and it’s easy to get to both ends by public transport – especially using the open top 559 bus service that runs every 20 minutes during the summer.
Then on pages 47-49, you’ll find my feature about five of Shropshire’s most impressive castles. (Well, here on the Welsh Borders, we have one or two castles, thanks to the numerous spats between the English and Welsh a few hundred years ago!)
I just hope you have good weather if you follow in my footsteps!
