Busses

The world of writing is a bit like busses. Nothing for a ages and then three things come along all at once. Or sometimes four.

Firstly, I had my contributor copies of the 2018 calendars that contain some of my photos. 2018 was a good year, it seems. I’m Mr February in the Lake District calendar, Mr June and Mr November in the Shropshire calendar, Mr Front Cover and Mr October and Mr November in Shropshire (A5) calendar, and Mr October and November in the Heart of England 2018 calendar.

If anyone is interested in buying any of these (or any other calendars, then check out the Calendar Club website.

Then I had a contributor copy of This England fall through my letterbox, because they’d used one of my photos as a double-page spread to illustrate a poem.

This was followed by a copy of Ireland’s Own magazine, containing a short story of mine, called Recalling Hope.

And then I found out that I have a short story in this week’s The Weekly News, called Shopping Lists.

Finally, the December issue of BBC Countryfile magazine is just out, with my winter walk around Hawkshead and up Loughrigg included.

All in all, a pretty good few days really!
