Shropshire Federation of WI Creative Writing Workshops

A couple of weeks ago (I’ve been away and this has been my first opportunity to post something!) I was invited by the Shropshire Federation of WI to run a creative writing workshop for a day, where some of their members could stretch their creative muscles.

Cumbrian Snapper Simon

Even when I’m holiday, I’m still looking for great BBC WeatherWatcher photos, and last week, while on holiday in the Lake District, two of my images were used.

The first was bright an early on the Sunday morning, at 7.14am (I’m not normally up that early on a Sunday, but it was the first full day of my holiday and I was raring to go!). Now, I didn’t see this originally, because I was still outside in the garden of my self-catering holiday accommodation taking more photos. Thankfully, a friend got in touch via social media and brought it to my attention.

Inaugural Telford@50 Write Now Right Now Literary Festival

I was lucky enough yesterday to be involved in the inaugural Telford Write Now, Right Now Literary Festival, which took place as part of the Telford@50 celebrations. Freezin’ February

Well, the Beast from the East is approaching, apparently, but that’s nothing that unusual for us here in the Welsh Borders. We get snow quite frequently here – Church Stretton isn’t nicknamed Little Switzerland for nothing, you know!

Still, I missed Shefali’s use of my photo on last night’s late evening broadcast, but thanks to the BBC iPlayer I managed to catch up on the broadcast. It seems Shefali began her broadcast with my image … peeking through her opaque introductory slide …
