Ironbridge Snapper

With lockdown restrictions easing, I met up with a fellow WeatherWatcher today in Ironbridge. And what I thought would be a pretty drab day turned into one of blue sky heaven.

A few years ago, the world famous Iron Bridge at Ironbridge was given a multi-million pound makeover by English Heritage and, controversially at the time, repainted in what is believed to be its original red colour, rather than the metal grey we’ve seen for many decades. On days like today, the red contrasts brilliantly against a brilliant blue sky.

I was watching the evening forecast and recognised the shot, but unfortunately it wasn’t credited. I was convinced it was mine, and a quick check of my WeatherWatchers page, and I saw the Editor’s Pick confirmation!
